Overview

Ghorba is the Arabic word for being far from where you are from. Five constructions written in harmonic minor at 71, 80, 84, 100 and 104 BPM — and every one of them comes apart. Twenty-two stems sit behind the five full loops, so you can take the chords without the melody, or the drums on their own, and start from the middle of a finished idea instead of an empty project.

Five full loops at 71, 80, 84, 100 and 104 BPM in C, D, F and G harmonic minor, plus F minor. Behind each one: the chords, the melody, the counter-melody, the strings, the flute, the choir, the vocal syllable, the sub bass and the drums, exported separately so you can keep what you want and replace the rest.

Every file is 24-bit WAV at 44.1 kHz, cut sample-exact to the bar. Nothing is transposed out of a western scale to sound eastern — the harmonic minor is where these were written.

Free, and cleared for records you sell.

In detail
01

Five ideas, not five loops

Each of the five is a finished 8 to 32 bar construction, not a one-bar cell on repeat. G harmonic minor at 80 BPM runs 32 bars; C and F run 16; the 71 BPM F minor idea runs 8.

The tempos spread from 71 to 104 so the pack covers slow cinematic work and mid-tempo Arabic trap without everything sitting at the same speed.

02

Every loop comes apart

Twenty-two of the twenty-seven files are stems. Chords, melody, counter-melody, strings, flute, choir, vocal syllable, sub bass, percussion and full drums — each exported on its own, in the same key and at the same tempo as the loop it came from.

Mute the melody and write your own over the chords. Take the drums alone. Use the sub under something else entirely. The full loop is the reference, not the only way in.

03

Cut to the bar

Every loop is an exact whole number of bars, measured, so it lines up the moment you drop it in with no nudging. The folders are sorted by key.

24-bit / 44.1 kHz WAV throughout. No clipping and no inter-sample overs anywhere in the pack.

Questions

Asked before.

Is it really free?

Yes. Make a free account and it downloads straight away. It stays in your library, so you can download it again any time.

Can I use it in a song I sell?

Yes. Commercial music use is permitted under the included licence, with no credit and no royalty split required.

What am I not allowed to do?

Redistribute or resell the loops as a sample pack or a sound library. Use them in your music, not inside someone else's pack.

What are the tempos and keys?

Five constructions: 71 BPM F minor, 80 BPM G harmonic minor, 84 BPM D harmonic minor, 100 BPM F harmonic minor and 104 BPM C harmonic minor.

What is the difference between a full loop and a stem?

The full loop is everything playing together. The stems are the same arrangement split into its parts, so you can keep some and replace others.

What does Ghorba mean?

It is the Arabic word for being away from home — the ache of distance from the place you are from. The pack was written in London.
