Overview

Build an Egyptian groove from the first doum to the last ring. 61 one-shots for Arabic trap, cinematic beats and percussion-led arrangements, sorted into labelled folders, with 11 MIDI files and four bonus loops alongside, so you can find the sound before the idea goes cold.

Shape the rhythm with darbuka doums, teks, kas and slaps, then add riq, daff, sagat and tabla strokes. Layered hybrids and pitched or shortened variations give you extra colour, and reverse swells and hall tails cover entrances, transitions and endings.

Every one-shot is supplied as a mono, 24-bit / 44.1 kHz WAV and organised into one of eight labelled sound folders. Build your own patterns, control the stereo placement in your mix, and use the samples in any WAV-compatible sampler or DAW.

What is in the box

Twelve darbuka hits give you the hand vocabulary first: five doums, two teks, two kas and three slaps. Add five tabla strokes, four daff hits, eight riq jingles and three sagat.

Then the extra colour: ten layered hybrids that pair a body with a shimmer, nine variations with shorter tails or a pitch up or down by two semitones, and ten FX (reverse swells, a pitched-down drop and hall tails) for entrances, transitions and endings.

02

Mono on purpose

Every one-shot is a mono 24-bit / 44.1 kHz WAV. Mono means you place it in the stereo field yourself instead of inheriting someone else's decision, and it keeps the low end honest when a doum and an 808 share the same bar.

03

Ten folders, no hunting

Darbouka, Tabla Hindi, Daff, Riq, Sagat, Hybrids, Variations and FX, one folder per group. Every sound is named for what it is: Doum Tawil is the long doum, Tek 3ali the high tek, Doum Maktoum the muted one. A short README inside the zip explains every word. Two more folders sit next to them: 09 MIDI, with 11 MIDI files at 152 BPM, and Extra, with four loops as a bonus, so you can start from a ready-made idea. Otherwise the groove is yours from the first doum.

Questions

Asked before.

Is it really free?

Yes. Make a free account and it downloads straight away. It stays in your library, so you can download it again any time.

Can I use it in a song I sell?

Yes. Commercial music use is permitted under the included licence, with no credit and no royalty split required.

What am I not allowed to do?

Redistribute or resell the individual sounds as a sample pack or a sound library. Use them in your music, not inside someone else's pack.

What format are the files?

The 61 one-shots are mono WAV, 24-bit at 44.1 kHz, and load in any WAV-compatible sampler or DAW. The four bonus loops are stereo WAV, 24-bit at 44.1 kHz, and the MIDI files open in any DAW.

Is the preview included in the download?

Yes. The preview is Full_Loop from the Extra folder: an Ayyub groove at 152 BPM, its drums played with sounds from this kit. Full_Drums and Melody Only, the same 48 bars split into drums and melody, sit right next to it.

Are there MIDI files and loops?

Yes. The 09 MIDI folder has 11 MIDI files at 152 BPM: seven drum parts (doums, tek, ka, slap and riq) plus bass, flute, guitar and piano lines. The Extra folder has four loops (Full_Loop, Full_Drums, Melody Only and a short Darbuka drums loop) as an extra bonus. The kit itself is the 61 one-shots.

What do the file names mean?

They are Egyptian words in Latin letters, for example Tawil (long), Nashef (dry), Maktoum (muted), Rannan (ringing), Khalkhal (a jingle layer) and Sada (a hall tail). The README inside the zip lists every word with its Arabic spelling.
